VISION

COSSA a just, humane and peaceful Mindanao
society where people are God-fearing,
nationalistic, empowered, self-sufficient and
free from any forms of exploitation.

Self sufficiency means that the basic needs of
the people are met and their basic human
rights are respected.  This is only achieved
when the people are living in a well-balanced
environment that promotes sustainability and
productivity in harmony with nature.

People’s empowerment is realized when
women, children, the family and community
are organized and are actively participating in
governance.


MISSION

COSSA shall actively participate in the
transformation process of society and shall
seek for the realization of the unity and
solidarity of the peoples of Mindanao in
particular and the Filipino people in general.

People’s untiy and solidarity are expressed in
the building and strengthening of community
organiztions and people’s instituions who
shall maximize the use of human and material
resources for the welfare of the community.

COSSA is particularly concerned with the
promotion of continuing educational
programs where the values of nationalism,
alternative lifestyle and cooperativism are
instilled, and the ecological concern towards
sustainable development addressed in a
continuing process of action-reflection-action.

COSSA promotes holistic and integral
development programs in the grassroots
and the values of nationalism and
alternative lifestyle among our members.

COSSA adheres to participative process
and member-driven programs of NGOs and
Pos in Mindanao.

COSSA believes that the partnerships of
NGOs and POs provide an active role in the
transformation of society particularly in
Mindanao wherein -

1. Social justice is equal meant access to
opportunities and resources through the
formation of cooperatives, participatory
decision-making, just compensation of
workers and shared responsibility and
accountability among others;

2. Ecological balance is protected,
conserved and enhanced;

3. Communities are functional, cohesive
and self-reliant;

4. Women, family, children and
communities are empowered.
