The Coalition of Social Development Organizations in South
Cotabato (CSDO-SC) is a private, non-profit, and non-stock social
development organization composed of different NGOs and Pos in
the Province of South Cotabato. It aims to unify the goals, direction
and stgrategies of its members in order to optimize impact in its
areas of coverage.
CSDO-SC was registered with the Securities and Exchange
Commission (SEC) on July 4, 1994. It became an offshoot of the
Local Government Code of 1991. It was about the same time that
the SOCSARGEN Growth Plan emerged, marking the breakthrough
of Local Government Units (LGU), Civil Society Organizations
(CSOs) and private sector collaboration. Moreover, after the
assessment of the needs inthe province came the need for a
mechanism to overcome the weak organizations coalesced to what
is now known as the CSDO-SC.
To date, the coalition has 27 member-organizations. The
development directions of the coalition are governed by its Board
of Trustees cum executive Committee (EXECOM). On the other
hand, day-to-day operations are handled by the Support
Management Unit(SMU) with highly trained professional staff.
The coalition finds its strength in the rpesence of its membership.
Strong membership is evidenced by the commitment and
adherence to one vision of its member-organizations. Moreover,
the Geographic Approach of the Coalition provides a synergism of
development initiatives, collaboration and co-ownership of
different stakeholders to pave way to greater tangible impacts to
target areas with localized monitoring by the same development
players.
